Guide to Lake Park Minnesota

Lake Park is a city in Becker County, Minnesota. Lake Park is located on U.S. Route 10, five miles east of the county line and is southwest of Labelle Lake. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.97 square miles (2.51 km²), all of it land. The elevation is 1,345 ft (410 m) above sea level.

LAKE PARK Township, settled in 1870, was organized September 19, 1871, being then named Liberty, which was changed to the present name in 1876. Its many lakes were collectively named by the Ojibwe, as translated by Gilfillan, "the lakes where there are streams, groves, prairies, and a beautiful diversified park country." Lake Park, a city in sections 2 and 3, was incorporated on February 25, 1881, as a village; a station on the Northern Pacific Railroad was built in 1871, unofficially called Lakeside. A post office was established as Loring, 1872-73, the name changing to Lake Park in 1873.
