Clearbrook Minnesota Community Guide

Clearbrook is a city in Clearwater County, Minnesota. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.4 square miles (1.1 km²), all of it land. The elevation is 1,348 ft (411 m).

CLEARBROOK, a city in Leon Township, section 29, took its name from the brook there. It began in 1907 as a community named Shanty Town, with a creamery, a blacksmith, a school, a store, and tent residences; the land sites of Shanty Town and Clearbrook were purchased from Peter Peterson, who had homesteaded in 1896 and erected the first store; the village of Clearbrook developed in 1910 when the Minneapolis, St. Paul and Sault Ste. Marie Railroad (Soo Line) came, absorbing the Shanty Town site. The post office was established in 1901, located for one year in a log cabin on Henry Olberg's homestead four miles northeast of Clearbrook in section 22 and named Olberg in his honor. Albert Anderson purchased the log cabin in 1902, moving it to Clearbrook and becoming the postmaster and newspaper publisher; the name changed to Clearbrook in 1910. It was incorporated as a village on June 15, 1918.

Wes Westrum Baseball Museum The museum has over 100 feet of glass display cases of photos, memorabilia, and newspaper articles that capture those glory days of baseball, including a 10' x 14' wall mural depicting Willie Mays' "Greatest Catch" made during the 1954 Giant and Cleveland World Series.
