Home of the Beltrami County Historical Society, is located in the Historic southern corridor of downtown Bemidji, in the restored 1912 Great Northern Depot, the regions most unique museum, presents the history of Beltrami Country. With its arched framework windows and original terrazzo floors, the depot is a stunning example of Neo-classical architecture, and its preservation is of significant importance. Built in 1912, the last depot built by "empire builder," James J. Hill. Approximately 1,250 prehistoric and historic artifacts, including lithic (use of stone as a cultural tool) materials collected nationwide. The majority of American Indian artifacts are of Ojibwe/Chippewa origin from the Red Lake Band.

The Bemidji Symphony Orchestra is a thriving community/college orchestra servicing the region of North Central Minnesota.  Its mission is to bring classical music to new audiences, while at the same time providing performance experience for both novice and accomplished musicians.  The orchestra performs four subscription concerts each season, and youth concerts biannually.  In addition, in 2005, the ensemble added a summer pops concert by the lake, a Messiah Sing-A-Long, and in 2006 a Valentines Concert with the Bemidji Youth Symphony.

The Bemidji Community Art Center was established in 1982 and is located in the Carnegie Library on beautiful lake Bemidji, in Bemidji, Minnesota. It serves as a resource for the artist, art enthusiast, art buyer and the community.

We provide educational arts experiences, exhibitions and lectures. Our Main Gallery displays national, regional, group and solo shows. Gallery X2 is designed for small exhibits and works of emerging artists. Both galleries feature a new exhibit each month from February through December. We sponsor the Bemidji Sculpture Walk which is an outdoor sculpture walk and direct two art fairs, Art in the Park and the People’s Arts Festival.

The winery is open May through December, six days a week and closed on Mondays. Tours are available and are designed to allow you to see how these fine wines are crafted, aged and bottled Remember, "It's not just grapes that make fine wine!" As Paul bottles a batch of Forestedge Wines, craftsmanship and pride go into every bottle. Forestedge Winery also carries a wide range of wine-related items and gifts.

The Great River Gallery at 202 3rd Street Bemidji, has been a creative dream-in-the-making for several years. A dedicated group of local artists and visionaries met on a regular basis for almost two years before the group took shape as an artists cooperative and the gallery became a reality. The group of 17 artists is made up of an iron sculptor, a bronze sculptor, two potters, several painters and collagists—from emerging artists to several internationally recognized, two jewelers, one internationally known wood turner, two textile artists and several multi-media and book arts people. They range in age from the 20’s to the 70’s, a diverse and talented group of men and women.

The Paul Bunyan Playhouse is a non-equity professional summer stock theatre located in Bemidji, MN. It employs a wide range of talented actors from Bemidji, the Twin Cities, and literally all over the country. Now entering its 56th season, it truly is "a tradition to treasure."

Take a step into the past at historic Camp Rabideau. The camp is located six miles south of Blackduck, Minnesota on County Road 39. In the 1930's there were 2,650 Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camps in America. Camp Rabideau was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976 and has been nominated as a National Historic Landmark. It is the best surviving original CCC camp in the United States.

One of 155 National Forests, the Chippewa was the first National Forest established east of the Mississippi. The Forest boundary encompasses 1.6 million acres, of which over 666,542 acres are managed by the USDA Forest Service. Aspen, birch, pines, balsam fir and maples blanket the uplands. Water is abundant, with over 1300 lakes, 923 miles of rivers and streams, and 400,000 acres of wetlands. These unique qualities offer an abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities all year long.

Home of the 2006 United States Men's & Women's Olympic Curling Teams. Bemidji Curling Club offers various leagues Monday through Friday. The leagues vary from men's, women's, mixed, to open. "Mixed" would require two men and two women and "open" would require all men, all women, or any combination there of including juniors. Some leagues are very social, some are competitive, but most are a good mix in between.

Established in 1891, Itasca is Minnesota's oldest state park. Today, the park totals more than 32,000 acres and includes more than 100 lakes. Walk across the mighty Mississippi as it starts its winding journey 2,552 miles to the Gulf of Mexico. Stand under towering pines at Preacher's Grove. Visit the Itasca Indian Cemetery or Wegmann's Cabin, landmarks of centuries gone by. Camp under the stars, or stay the night at the historic Douglas Lodge or cabins. Explore Wilderness Drive past the 2,000-acre Wilderness Sanctuary, one of Minnesota's seven National Natural Landmarks.

This park is the perfect playground any time of year, offering visitors swimming, boating, fishing, birdwatching, hiking, camping, biking, picnicking, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and year-around naturalist-led activities. Hikers can explore the beauty of a tamarack bog carpeted with showy lady's slippers, pitcher plants, dragon's mouth, grass pink, and insect-eating sundews. Most flowers are blooming in the bog during late spring and early summer.

Each cabin has its own spacious deck, picnic table, Weber grill and their own campfire rings complete with firewood. The interiors are fully furnished and have full size appliances, with wood burning stoves.

Rainbow Resort is located on beautiful Turtle River Lake. Rainbow is nestled on the north shore of the uniquely shaped lake with its many miles of irregular shoreline. We are just 11 miles northeast of Bemidji and 10 miles south of Blackduck.
