Cromwell is a city in Carlton County, Minnesota. Minnesota State Highways 73 and 210 are two of the main arterial routes in the community. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.01 square miles (5.21 km˛), of which, 1.84 square miles (4.77 km˛) of it is land and 0.17 square miles (0.44 km˛) of it is water. The elevation is 1,312 ft (400 m).

As of the census of 2010, there were 234 people, 130 households, and 50 families residing in the city. The population density was 127.2 inhabitants per square mile (49.1/km2). There were 180 housing units at an average density of 97.8 per square mile (37.8/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 97.4% White, 0.4% Native American, 0.4% from other races, and 1.7% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.9% of the population.
There were 130 households of which 20.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 27.7% were married couples living together, 7.7% had a female householder with no husband present, 3.1% had a male householder with no wife present, and 61.5% were non-families. 55.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 43.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.80 and the average family size was 2.80.
The median age in the city was 55.3 years. 20.1% of residents were under the age of 18; 4.3% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 17.9% were from 25 to 44; 17.6% were from 45 to 64; and 40.2% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 42.7% male and 57.3% female.

CROMWELL, a city in the south edge of Red Clover Township, section 33, was organized January 17, 1891, receiving its name from the Northern Pacific Railroad company. It was incorporated as a village in 1903; the post office was established in 1882.

Fond du Lac Cross Country Ski Trail Thirty-seven miles of trails wind throughout the 64,000 acre Fond du Lac State Forest. Some sections offer wide, gentle curves while the majority are narrow with tighter curves and corners. Much of the route follows ridges that border wetlands, marshy areas, wooded swamps and shallow wild-rice lakes. Trails located within the forest offer more challenging loops, and a gravel pit provides riders with a large practice area. |
